All Bambo engineered wood floors featuring the EasyLock system designed to be installed as a glueless, floating floors. This means planks do not need to be glued together and the overall floor will “float” without being adhered to the sub-floor beneath it. This click together system streamlines installation and reduces initial clean-up time.
The EasyLock system allows both the long sides of each plank to be “engaged” and then dropped and locked into place. As with any floating floor installation, the most important instruction is to maintain a consistent space for expansion between the edges of the floor and all vertical surfaces (e.g. walls, cabinets) of at least 5/8" or the thickness of one plank. This gives room for the house and floor to move with temperature and humidity changes. Bambo’s cold press lamination system enhances the stability of the flooring to reduces the amount of expansion and contraction of the floor, maintaining tight fitting floors after proper installation.

Our floors are easier to install than most. But you will get the best possible installation by using an experienced hardwood flooring installer available through your Bambo dealer. All installation instructions should be carefully followed to protect both the life of your floor and the validity of our warranties which require proper installation. Bambo Installation Basics
Here are a few additional guidelines you need to know to ensure a successful installation which will serve your needs for years to come, including:
- EasyLock floating floors can be installed above grade, on grade and below grade (meaning ground level). See precautions for installations over high moisture concrete slab precautions available by clicking on the complete installation guide at the bottom of this page
- Well cleaned, prepared and level subfloors are the key to a successful any installation
- All wood floors should be delivered on-site for a period of 2-3 days prior to the beginning of the installation in order to allow the material to acclimatize prior to installation

How Much Flooring to Buy
When flooring is ordered, 5% must be added to the room’s square footage to allow for waste during installation. For diagonal installations add 10% more. Please remember that bamboo is a natural product with naturally occurring variations such in color and graining. Some variation is to be expected. Also remember that even though our product goes through many inspections before it reaches the dealer, it is the customer’s and installer’s responsibility to inspect each piece prior to installing it. If material is not acceptable, do not install it and contact your dealer immediately.
