Maintenance and Warranty

Maintenance – Keeping your floor beautiful for generations.

Bambo Bamboo Flooring starts out beautiful and will stay that way for years to come if you take the time to understand possible sources of damage and how to protect your floor from them.

First, know your floor’s main enemies:
  1. Prolonged exposure to water or other liquid spills;
  2. Abuse from a number sources including: sharp or heavy dropped objects, shoes with small surface areas such as high heels or cleats, moving appliances and furniture, pet claws and rolling or riding toys with hard plastic or metal wheels;
  3. Tracked-in grit and dirt that can become abrasive over time.
Second, protect your floor by following these key tips:
  • Clean spills quickly using a damp cloth moistened with water or any wood cleaner recommended by your dealer
  • Keep your floor free of dirt, sand and debris by sweeping regularly with a broom, dust mop or vacuum (no beater bars)
  • Use door mats to collect the dirt before it gets tracked onto your floor (avoid rubber-backed mats – mats need to “breath” to keep moisture from collecting underneath)
  • Use area rugs in high-traffic areas or other areas exposed to high use such as in front of sinks, around pet cages and feeding areas
  • Use protective pads on the legs of heavy or moving furniture (available at any dealer or home center); replacement is recommended when worn out
  • Before moving heavy appliances or furniture across your floor, protect it with a board made from some kind of solid material (e.g. plywood)
  • Damp mopping is acceptable when necessary, but never “flood” your floor with water or other liquids
  • Do not use potentially harsh chemicals or cleaners such as bleach, detergent or ammonia

Finally, an important note about sunlight: Like fabric and many other materials, Bamboo and wood floors can change shade over time due to prolonged exposure to sunlight. This is natural, but you may want to protect areas exposed to strong sunlight with blinds, curtains or UV-resistant film on windows.

What happens if you have a claim:

To make a warranty claim, contact your retailer or contractor within thirty (30) days following the date of discovery or detection of a problem. Original proof of purchase (e.g. a dealer invoice), including the date of purchase, must be presented to make a claim. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable. If the product or color for which a claim is made is no longer available, the customer will be able to choose a product of equal value from Bambo’s current range of products. Bambo warrants repaired or replaced products for the remainder of the original warranty period only. Bambo reserves the right to inspect the installed planks and to remove samples if needed.
